1. IN-PIPE MOBILE ROBOT WITH PASSIVE ADAPTATION ABILITY TO PIPE DIAMETER

Abstract: In-pipe robotic systems are increasingly being used for visual inspection and nondestructive testing to monitor block, corrosion, crack, defect, and wall thickness of pipeline networks. In this paper an in-pipe mobile robot with the passive ability of adaptation to pipe diameter is presented. Its mechanical structure consists of three sets of parallelogram wheeled leg mechanism which are circumferentially spaced out 120 degrees apart symmetrically. Using a simple preloaded spring makes this structural design capable to realize the adaptation to a wide range of pipe diameters, from 20 to 32 inch, and also wheel normal forces adjustment. On the basis of analyzing the mechanical actions of the adaptation to pipe diameter and normal force adjusting, the related mechanical models are derived. 2. SUBMARINE OPTIMAL DEPTH CONTROL APPLYING PARSEVAL'S THEOREM

Abstract: In this paper a transfer function of submarine and steering gear are defined. Transfer functions have been analyzed and mathematical model of the system is presented. Optimal controller and its parameters are found using simulation of the whole system by Matlab and Simulink. Optimal parameters have been confirmed applying Parseval’s theorem. Different types of controllers: P, PI and PID are analyzed. Responses for the whole system to the unity step function are given. To determine the stability of the system, analytical and graphical methods were used. A nonlinear system was also considered with two nonlinear elements to protect a steering gear from the huge signals. Further research for improvement of the model, including a certain disturbance is suggested.

3. THE OBTAINING OF DYNAMIC EQUATIONS FOR THREE DEGREE OF FREEDOM PARALLEL ROBOT

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find dynamic equations for three degree of freedom triglide parallel robot, which is a member of the family of delta parallel robot. The Lagrangian method has been used for this aim. Dynamic equations have been obtained by utilizing abbreviation symbols. In addition to that, mathematical operations have been given for one arm of the robot in this paper.

4. USE OF NANO CUTTING FLUID IN MACHINING

Abstract: Nano cutting fluids are the mixture of conventional cutting fluid and nanoparticles. Addition of the nanoparticles can alter wettability and lubricating properties. This paper presents a comprehensive review of published research works on the use of nano fluids in machining processes. Nano cutting fluid plays an important role in minimizing production time, cost and energy in different machining operations. The study covers the classification of nano fluids and their effect on both workpiece and cutting tools including surface roughness, tool wear and cutting force has been explained. As a result, the paper presents a roadmap for the researchers and practitioners during the utilization of nano cutting fluids in machining processes.

5. INVESTIGATION OF SPRINGBACK BEHAVIOR OF DP SERIES SHEET METAL IN BENDING PROCESS

Abstract: In the study, the springback behavior took place during V bending of DP series Sheet metals having different quality was experimentally investigated. For this purpose, sheet metal having quality of DP800 and DP600 with size of 45x90 mm thickness of 1, 1.5 and 2 mm and V bending die having 60, 90, and 120o angles were used. The data obtained from results of experimental studies was graphically represented and the evaluated.

6. APPLICATION OF MULTI-AGENT SYSTEM FOR INFORMATION FLOW INTEGRATION IN MANUFACTURING COMPANY CASE STUDY

Abstract: Case study of distributed multi-agent system application in manufacturing company information flow integration. Company structure is reflected in set of agents responsible for activities specific to organizational units. Agents interconnect diverse IT systems and integrate information from them, basing on asynchronous message passing communication. Findings: multi-agent systems are analogous to actor model, can work on top of existing IT solutions, utilize power of cloud computing and solve real information flow problems in enterprise applications, assisting in decision-making with high-quality integrated information.

7. PRODUCTION AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF BALLISTIC PERFORMANCE OF LAMINATED HYBRID COMPOSITES

Abstract: This paper presents studies on usability of multilayered hybrid composite as personal armor material. In the scope of study, 4 hybrid composite materials with different number of layers and thickness have been produced by using three different type of fabric. Then, ballistic tests have been performed and results have been investigated. The ballistic tests have been performed by using Beretta and 9 mm FMJ bullet to the international standards (NIJ 0101-06). In the ballistic tests, the speed of bullets and the depth of penetration (DOP) occurring on the test samples have been measured and the damages have been assessed. First 2 test samples with [Glass fiber10/Aramid fiber10/Carbon fiber10] sequence and 30 layers have been produced, the ballistic tests have been performed and investigated. After observing the success of these two test samples, other two test samples have been produced by reducing the number of layers to 21 with [Glass fiber7/Aramid fiber7/Carbon fiber7] sequence.

8. NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF FORCED CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF AL2O3/WATER NANOFLUIDS IN PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER CHANNEL

Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate forced convection heat transfer and flow characteristics in a herringbone type plate heat exchanger channels using Al2O3/water nanofluids with numerical analysis method. The numerical analysis comprises the analysis of two dimensional model of the plate heat exchanger channel. Constant heat flux is applied on the walls. The heat transfer characteristics were simulated using finite volume method with the standard k–ε turbulence model and solved iteratively by using the SIMPLE algorithm. The numerical analysis was carried out in different Reynolds (600-1900) numbers and volumetric (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%) concentrations for single phase approach and results got from the numerical analysis were compared with the results obtained experimentally. 9. MODELING AND SIMULATION OF A HYBRID VEHICLE WITH TWO-WHEEL DRIVE USING A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH

Abstract: The first cars in the history were purely mechanical devices and were designed based on the model of carriages drawn by horses. Since then, automobiles are much developed and represent a marvel of complex interdisciplinary engineering. Indeed, automakers have more and more integrated new technologies in vehicles to meet customer needs. Among these new technologies, there are hybrid vehicles that were developed to overcome the problems of the environment’s pollution and to avoid energy crises. In this work, one type of hybrid vehicle was focused on, which is the electric hybrid vehicle with two-wheel drive. Various subsystems of this vehicle is presented and its dynamic model is developed using AMESim software. The operating New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) is used to compare our simulation results and to optimize the functioning of the system.

10. INFLUENCE OF BOUNDARY CONDITIONS ON THE SOUND RADIATION AND ACTIVE CONTROL DESIGN OF A SANDWICH PLATE WITH CORRUGATED CORE

Abstract: The aim of my current research is to improve the acoustic performance of a sandwich plate with corrugated core. It finds application in high speed trains and aircraft, where a major concern for the comfort of passengers is the low frequency noise, especially after the ineffectiveness methods of geometric optimization and passive control. Active control by means of PZT patch is the approach my research will follow. When the dynamics of the structure is studied, the boundary conditions (BC) play an important role: they influence natural frequencies and mode shapes, and the way the active control should be implemented. In this paper I show my results on the vibroacoustics performance of the sandwich structure, together with the influence of BC on the actuator placement.

11. OPTIMAL DESIGN CRITERION FOR HEAT TRANSFORMER OPERATING WITH WATER/CARROL

Abstract: This paper shows a discussion for selection of thermodynamic operating conditions in an absorption heat transformer (AHT). An AHT is the only thermal machine that increases the source temperature using heat for does it with a negligible mechanical energy. Thermodynamic parameters for AHT are the same than for heat pumps: Coefficient of performance (COP) and Gross Temperature Lift (GTL). Those parameters are not linearly correlated. Instead GTL increases its value when COP decrease. The criterion for an optimal design is based on an objective function with COP and GTL. This paper use AHT thermodynamic data operating with Carrol – water for show the best design operating conditions.

12. DETECTING ROTOR ASYMMETRIES WITH VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE AT STANDSTILL

Abstract: The diagnosis of Induction Motors (IMs) is crucial to avoid unexpected economic losses due to their failures. To reduce the cost associated to its maintenance, a recent trend is the integration of diagnostic procedures in the electronic equipment that control the motor, such as variable speed drives (VSD)s. This paper presents a new methodology to detect rotor asymmetries and unbalanced contact resistances in IMs fed from VSDs, at standstill. The proposed approach is a non-invasive technique, can be executed on-line, and is not expensive because this method does not need extra hardware or additional sensors. Besides, the results of the proposed diagnostic method are presented in a very graphical and easy to understand way, alike to a dartboard, which makes it easily understandable by non-qualified personal maintenance. The proposed methodology is validated experimentally with a commercial induction motor with different rotors, both healthy and faulty.

13. HOW DOES A DUTY OF LIFE INFLUENCE HAPPINESS? CASE STUDY OF BAN SAN CHOK POK, DOK KHAMTAI SUB-DISTRICT DOK KHAMTAI DISTRICT, PHAYAO, THAILAND

Abstract: In this study, two research questions “what is the level of villagers’ happiness?” and “which factors influence their happiness?” are posed. To address these two research questions, this study uses mixed-methods research approach. Field survey, interview, and questionnaire are performed to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Final sample includes 155 people. Unlike previous studies which classified their sample according to age and sex, this study classifies its sample into six groups according to their duty of life. The six groups include grandmothers, grandfathers, mothers, fathers, daughters, and sons. It is found that grandmothers are less happy when they have to take the role of the head of the family. Going to pray at the temple only increases the mothers’ happiness. Interestingly, there is contradictory evidence of the extent to which loan influences grandparents’ happiness. Having a loan makes grandmothers happier but grandfathers less happy. On the other hand, the
