1. ATTRACTION SOUND IN THE SWIFTLETS HOUSE

Abstract: This research about the analysis of attraction sound for swiftlets to enter the swiftlets house. There are important thing for industry to attract swiftlets enter and build their nests in man-made house. Swiftlet house usually house fitted bird-call recording from original sound in the cave to attract attention bird go inside house to be doing nest. Therefore,this study analyze sound features that has attracted attention bird. Ten samples of swiftlets sound were analyzed by using Fast Fourier Transform in Matlab software to identify sound characteristic that attract swiftlets. Specific sound characteristic for swiftlets attraction on frequency and magnitude of original sound and noise have been identified.

2. OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF SILICON-GERMANIUM ALLOY AND CUPROUS OXIDE WITH THEIR APPLICATIONS IN PLASMONICS

Abstract: The single-pole Lorentz model parameters for Silicon-Germanium Alloy (1.5:1) and Cuprous Oxide are presented. An algorithm has been developed to optimize the parameters applicable to a broad frequency range. The obtained parameters have been used to determine the complex relative permittivity for these two materials. To verify the obtained results, they have been compared with experimental values and a very good agreement is achieved. The associated root-mean-square (RMS) deviations are observed to be 0.15 and 0.08 respectively. Finally a plasmonic waveguide based on Metal-Dielectric-Metal (MDM) configuration constructed with silver (metal) and Cuprous Oxide (dielectric) has been analyzed and presented.

3. DC-DC CIRCUIT ANALYSIS FOR HARVESTING ENERGY USING PIEZOELECTRIC AND ELECTROMAGNETIC MICRO-GENERATORS

Abstract: Inline with the advancement of low power circuit design, it has reduced the power requirements of electronic devices to the level of microwatts. As power demand decreases, the possibility of using energy harvesting systems as an alternative to batteries increases. However, for low power electronic application, the consistency of minimum voltage and current supply to the electronic devices is an important issue to be considered. This paper presents an outcome of DC-to DC step down IC MC34063A for harvesting energy using piezoelectric and electromagnetic. The simulation results of the circuit shows an output voltage of 3.3V with an input voltage of 5V from the micro-generators.

5. A WEB-AS-CORPUS APPROACH TO POPULATING WIKIVERSITY FOR TEACHING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MODULES

Abstract: Wikiversity is an online open-source public repository for University-level teaching and learning materials, based on the Wikipedia architecture for “crowd-sourcing”: it relies on volunteers to collaborate by actively contributing their knowledge for the common good. Undoubtedly a huge volume of learning resources exists on the WWW, but scattered on individual websites, in a wide range of formats and structures. Individual lecturers prepare online teaching materials to support their own teaching, but few know of Wikiversity, and few have time or inclination to take on the extra step of formally registering and uploading their materials to Wikiversity. In this paper we will present an approach to organise and semi-automate the harvesting of these scattered resources, by using BootCat to crawl the Web and adapting Web-as-Corpus techniques. 6. A PROTOYPE NETWORK ENTERPRISE DESIGN FOR ISABELA STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM

Abstract: Isabela State University System has four (4) clusters composing of nine (9) satellite campuses and two (2) campus extensions; it has peculiar Networking needs or interconnectivity for each campus to support effective dissemination of knowledge to the studentry of the university. The objectives of the study are: assess the ICT and Network infrastructure of ISU Campuses; evaluate response time of the server using leased line Internet Provider and the performance with the client side using PLDT DSL, Globe Broadband (WiMax) and Cable TV System/IPStar Internet Provider and; design a prototype network enterprise that applicable for ISU system, that make all campuses to share information and resources and future adaptation of application such as data mining, cloud computing, E-learning, VOIP and other technologies that can be very useful in the university.

7. IMPLEMENTING FEFOM LOAD BALANCING ALGORITHM ON THE ENHANCED OTIS-N-CUBE TOPOLOGY

Abstract: The Optical Transpose Interconnection System; OTIS for short; optoelectronic interconnection network architecture is an interesting alternative for future-generation parallel processing systems due to its promising and attractive topological properties. Recently, many enhancements were presented on OTIS topologies including the Enhanced OTIS-n-Cube interconnection networks. Therefore, performance improvement characteristics of such a potential architecture need to be investigated; one of which is load balancing technique. This paper focuses on implementing an efficient algorithm for load balancing on the potential Enhanced OTIS-n-Cube interconnection networks. This algorithm is called Factor-Optical-Factor Exchange Model; FOFEM for short.

8. FALL DETECTION SYSTEM USING COMBINATION ACCELEROMETER AND GYROSCOPE

Abstract: Falling is a common accident and the most significant cause of injury for elderly person. This study investigates the methodology to identify falls from normal Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). In this study, a wireless sensor system (WSS), based on accelerometer and gyroscope, is placed at the centre of the chest to collect real-time fall data. The WSS contains a set of ADXL345 (3-axis digital accelerometer sensor), ITG3200 (3-axis digital gyroscope sensor), MCU LPC17680 (ARM 32-bit cortex M3), and Wi-Fi module RN13. Experiment protocols consisting of four types of falls such as forward fall, backward fall, and side way fall (left and right) along with normal gait involved 324 tests on 18 human subjects. The results from the experiment shows the system and algorithm could distinguish between falling and ADLs with an accuracy of 99.382%.

9. DESIGNING OF GRAPHENE NANORIBBON BASED STATIC RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY

Abstract: In the post silicon era as the silicon reaches its fundamental scaling limits graphene nanoribbons is expected to take over and thus continue the Moore’s law about the diminishing size of transistors. Graphene nanoribbons facilitates high speed low power switching applications. Low and high field mobilities of the graphene nanoribbons are found to be higher than the CNTs and CMOS keeping the same unit cell. Such properties of graphene nanoribbons are used in the paper to define RAM memory using GNRs as an effective substitute to CMOS and CNTFETs cache memory. Graphene nanoribbon crossbars are used as the basic programmable devices. This 2-D arrangement of GNRs creates programmable diodes at intersection of each horizontal and vertical GNR rod thus opening up new avenues for building high speed memory and digital devices. 10. EFFECT OF HIGH OPERATING TEMPERATURE ON ELECTRICAL QUANTITIES OF CDTE RADIATION DETECTORS

Abstract: Analysis electrical properties change of a semiconductor radiation detector, based on Cadmium-Telluride material has been carried out. The detector was exposed to temperature 100 °C for time period of 24 hours. Heat stress caused an increase of leakage currents by two orders. New defect energy levels caused difference in detector current transit, typical for the polarization effect. The noise spectral density of the detector after thermal stressing increases with the power of 6.81, which is significantly higher value than 2.70, measured before thermal stressing.

11. A 0.35µM CMOS PIERCE OSCILLATOR FOR MEMS SAW RESONATOR

Abstract: This paper presents the pre and post layout simulation results for a pierce oscillator integrated with MEMS SAW resonator. The oscillator is designed to be interface with 1.78GHz MEMS SAW resonator. The pierce oscillator has achieved 18dB gain, 1.8GHz bandwidth and about 100o phase performance. The simulation is done using CMOS 0.35u technology. The pre layout simulation of MEMS oscillator is sustained at 1.775GHz, with 0.8V voltage swing. The post layout simulation is sustained at 1.766GHz and 0.35V voltage swing. The phase noise performance after post layout simulation is 97.94dBc/Hz at 100kHz cutoff frequency.

12. COLOR BLIND IMAGE CORRECTION

Abstract: Color blindness or color vision deficiency (CVD) refers to the inability to perceive or distinguish certain colors or shades of colors to some degree. This paper presents different methods of correcting images especially for people suffering from dichromacy: protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia. Color transformation, color simulation and colormap approximation are the methods that have been applied in this project for helping color blind people to improve color perception when they see things in this world. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. A survey has been conducted to colorblind people to test the proposed methodology.The output of the survey shows very promising results, indicating that the proposed method of image correction using colormap approximation method is capable of relaying information in the picture or image tothe color blind people.

13. AN FPGA EMBEDDED ACCA ARCHITECTURE FOR HIGH RESOLUTION TARGET DETECTION

Abstract: This paper presents an efficient FPGA-based architecture of CFAR target detector for radar system based on the automatic censored cell averaging (ACCA) detector based on ordered data variability (ODV). The ACCA–ODV detector estimates the unknown background level by dynamically selecting a suitable set of ranked cells and applying successive hypothesis tests. The proposed detector does not require any prior information about the non homogenous background environment. It uses the variability index statistic as a shape parameter to accept or reject the ordered cells under investigation. The detection process is achieved on the fly in real-time where the processing time must be lower than 0.5 µs for high resolution detection. The proposed architecture is based on the embedded software solution which consists on execution an the ANSI-C code of the detector over the Nios-II soft-core processor downloaded in the FPGA with the requires hardware components, such as on-chip memories, UART and JT

14. DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF RF-CMOS SPST SWITCH FOR RECONFIGURABLE RF FRONT-END

Abstract: The consumer demands on having multi-functional wireless communication devices have driven current mobile handset to be more complex than it has ever been before. In particular, radio frequency (RF) front-end has evolved to adapt with multi-standards terminals. Thus, by having integrated switches and resonators on the same chip may be considered as a compact solution. In this paper, the design and simulation of RF-CMOS SPST switch is presented. The switch exhibits insertion loss of 1.15-dB and 1.155-dB at 850MHz and 1.125GHz respectively. On the other hand, the isolation is > 22dB in this frequency range while its P1dB is > 20dBm. Pre and post layout of the switch is included in this paper to observe the effect of parasitic capacitance in the layout design.
