1. A NEW ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING FUZZY CONSTRAINED SHORTEST PATH PROBLEM USING INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY NUMBERS

Abstract: Constrained shortest path problem (CSPP) is an NP-Complete problem where the goal is to determine the cheapest path bounded by a given delay constraint. This problem finds application in several fields like television and transportation networks, ATM circuit routing, multimedia applications etc. In these kinds of applications it is important to provide quality of service (QoS). Therefore, it is necessary to model the uncertainty involved in the parameters like cost, delay, time etc. The best technique to deal with the imprecise nature of the parameters is to represent them using fuzzy numbers. We propose a solution for the intuitionistic fuzzy version of the problem i.e. constrained intuitionistic fuzzy shortest path problem (CIFSPP) where one of the parameter i.e. cost is represented as a trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy number (TIFN) and the other parameter i.e. delay is modelled using real numbers. 2. ANALYSIS THE EEG SIGNAL TO DETECT EPILEPSY USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK

Abstract: According to the World Health Statistics, the epilepsy is a disease that suffer about one percent of people in the world. The EEG Signals as electrical activity of the brain use to detect type of epilepsy. Epilepsy will be detected by the recurrence of epileptic seizures in EEG signals. In most cases, it can not predict the onset in a short period, but requires a continuous recording of the EEG signal. Conventional way of recording tape that has been recorded for this method is mobile that keeps the EEG data for a very long time, even up to a week holds. Since conventional methods of analysis are very tedious and time consuming, EEG automatic seizure detection methods have been developed in recent years, but the error percentage of them is high. Therefore, this paper presents a method based on artificial neural network for detecting the epilepsy that results demonstrate, good accuracy of the proposed model.

3. SHIFTING COLORS TO OVERCOME NOT REALIZING OBJECTS PROBLEM DUE TO COLOR VISION DEFICIENCY

Abstract: Color vision deficiency is an inability that the person could not realize the differences between some colors. This inability causes person not to read some writings, to see some of signs as in Ishihara Test. In this study to provide them to read that numbers, a method as shifting colors was applied on some Ishihara Plate images. JPEG format images are read and colors are shifted in different ratios in HSV color space. Consequently, color deficient person is able to read the numbers on the plates that the shifting method was applied. Images are tested with 3 different red – green color deficient people and results are declared.

4. APPLICATION OF THE METHOD OF HURWITZ-RADON MATRICES IN DATA RECONSTRUCTION

5. INFORMATION SECURITY AWARENESS AND PRACTICES IN MALAYSIAN IHLS: A STUDY AT UNISEL

Abstract: Securing information is essential for safeguarding an organization business operation since information is a valuable asset for the organization. One of the most vital information security controls is information security awareness and practice. The purpose of this study is to assess the levels of information security awareness and practice among faculty staffs in Malaysian IHLs. The survey questionnaire was distributed to faculty staffs in University Selangor as a sample study to assess the trend of information security awareness and practice. The finding of the study shows that more than half of them were aware of the importance of information security in educational learning environment. This research is expected to contribute to information security awareness in IHLs. This research recommends that an information security policy should be developed for Malaysian IHLs.

6. CAPTURING FEATURES FOR HEIGHT COMPUTATION DERIVED WITH GAUSSIAN MIXTURE MODEL

Abstract: Height is a biometric trait which is considered as one of the important parameters for the identification of a person and nutritional status. This study generally aimed to obtain the height of a person through experimental approach utilizing computer vision. The web cam captures group of students into a single image. Canny edge detection is applied for image segmentation and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) for background subtraction. Segmented images were evaluated to identify the ideal number of students from a controlled environment lessening computer vision constraints. Data collected from the experiment were subjected to one-way ANOVA and T-Test to analyze the difference between prototype derived height from a captured image and actual height of the student. 7. MALWARE SIMULATION USING JADE

Abstract: One of the problems related to the simulation of attacks against computer networks is the lack of adequate tools for the simulation of malicious software (malware). Malware attacks are the most frequent in the Internet and they pose a serious threat against networked infrastructures. To address this issue we developed a Malware Simulation Tool using JADE. 11. BIPED ROBOT CONTROL USING CEREBELLAR MODEL ARTICULATION CONTROLLER

Abstract: This paper presents the design of a biped robot using the Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (CMAC). An inertial navigation system (INS) including gyroscopes and accelerometers is used to measure the robot’s attitude and acceleration for modifying the dynamic attitude of the robot. Moreover, a zero moment point (ZMP) compensator is used to on-line adjust the gait trajectories to improve the walking stability. Experimental results show that the developed system can achieve favorable control performance for the biped robot.

13. INNOVATIVE PROCUREMENT DESIGN FOR FACILITY MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Abstract: We introduce a multi-attribute auction-based mechanism with an endogenous scoring rule as a mean to innovate procurement design related to outsourcing of facility management (FM) activities in private and public sectors. The mechanism allows the procurer to request bids on several measurable technical and economic attributes of the supply of FM services, detailed in the procurement contract. The procurer also assigns weights to such features to signal their relevance to the sellers, while the score obtained with respect to any attribute is endogenously determined on the basis of the submitted offers. The proposed mechanism allows the procurer to mitigate the most relevant drawbacks due to the lack of skills and crucial information on the outsourced non-core activities. 14. MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF NEED OF EXACT NUMBER OF RELAYS TO ENSURE SEAMLESS MOBILITY IN UBICOMP.

Abstract: One of the requirements of MAUC has been to ensure smooth transition from one relay to another during mobility of a node. This “smoothness” must be unnoticed by a user and hence the term “seamless mobility”. Lots of research and development are being carried out to achieve this concept [5-17]. To achieve seamless mobility, neighbouring relays to the closest relay that a node is connected to, must be notified proactively and minimal amount of resources be reserved to initiate communication through it as and when a node comes close to it. 15. MODELLING OF NEED FOR MULTIPLE RELAYS FOR ENSURING SEAMLESS MOBILITY.

To achieve seamlessness of mobility in a multi-relay MAUC topography, quite a lot of back-end work must be carried out for proactively enabling potential “next-relays” and cause resource reservations. It is important to know trends of CBRs which will need exactly 1 relay, 2 relays, 3 relays….in the environment for policy formulations and improvement in resource management. 16. ROBUST MEAN SHIFT OBJECT TRACKING WITH IMPROVED TRACKING VELOCITY AND LEAST LOCALIZATION ERRORS

Abstract: The object tracking algorithms based on men shift are good and efficient. But they have limitations like inaccuracy of target localization and sometimes complete tracking failure. These difficulties arises because of the fact that in basic kernel based mean shift tracking algorithm, the centroid is not always at the center of the target and the size of tracking window remains constant even if there is a major change in the size of object. It causes introduction of large number of background pixels in the object model which give localization errors or complete tracking failure. One more limitation of basic mean shift tracking algorithm is that it does not have an adaptive stop threshold in searching the target procedure. So even at times it gives proper target localization the computation time is much more. 17. A NEW SIMULATION MODEL FOR RESPIRATION SIGNAL MEASUREMENTS FROM WALKING HUMAN

Abstract: There has been research interest in using the micro Doppler effect for contactless measurements of human respiration. Most of the research assumes that the test subject remains stationary. The purpose of this paper is to detect a respiration signal from a walking human. This work is at an early stage, and MATLAB model for a walking human with respiration movement was used, instead of recreating an actual human walking case. The results from this study show that a respiration signal can be successfully extracted from a walking human model.

Abstract: Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) is one of the core challenging area for researchers since several decades and it plays a crucial role in all natural language processing (NLP) applications viz. Information Retrieval, Information Extraction, Question Answering, Text Mining, Machine Translation etc. Researchers defined WSD as to identify the actual meaning of a word based on the context in which it occurs. Whereas in linguistic, context is defined as the text in which a word or passage appears and which helps ascertain its meaning. Hence, context of a word depends on different part of speech (POS) of a sentence i.e. Noun, Verb, pronoun, adjective and adverb. This paper proposes a novel approach for context based word sense disambiguation using soft sense disambiguation, map-reduce, knowledge based multimodal algorithm and WordNet.

19. A MODIFIED ADAPTIVE VARIABLE STEP SIZE NLMS ADAPTIVE FILTERING ALGORITHM FOR RAYLEIGH FADING ENVIRONMENTS

Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive filtering solution for multipath Rayleigh fading channel which is based upon adaptive variable step size parameter. The algorithm is derived from normalized least mean square (NLMS) algorithm to make the step size parameter adaptive of NLMS filter which provides good tracking performance and fast convergence with respect to time varying channel. The simulation results show that the fast convergence as well as low probability of error leads to better signal to noise (SNR) ratio when it is compared to conventional NLMS and Bi-LMS algorithms.

22. RADIATION HARDENING: APPROACH AND RELIABILITY IMPACTS

Besides, the reuse of existing components implies that a modification of the architecture is sometimes expected to meet the safety requirements for such critical applications. To achieve such safety level, physical radiation hardening is usually used despite its cost. However, by performing a radiation hardening, it is possible to achieve the expected results while decreasing the expected cost of such an evolution. 25. A METHOD FOR 3D RECONSTRUCTION OF ISAR IMAGES USING IMPULSE-RADIO UWB

Abstract: Recently, the use of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology has been increasing. This technology makes it possible to obtain high-resolution images of distant objects using microwave signals. A 2D ISAR algorithm was developed for defense and tomography and is used in medical approach. In this paper, the tomography algorithm is studied, using microwave similar to those used in reflection tomography. Three-dimensional images were reconstructed using two receiver antennae and one transmitter. The ISAR interferometry configuration was designed as a backprojection algorithm. When compared to 2D imaging, the signal has an elliptical range profile in the 3D observation mode. An elliptical range migration is confirmed in both theoretical and experimental results.

Relay Node (RN) has advantages including low power, lower cost and system deployment easily which can enhance system capacity, coverage area, and reduce network deployment cost. How to increase the range of coverage effectively but also give consideration to reduce the cost is a great challenge. This paper adopts Particle Swarm Optimization with Time Varying Acceleration Coefficients (PSO-TVAC) which has distributed memory and contiguous range searching function, that applies to Evolved NodeB (eNB) and Relay Node to deploy network in particular area for lower cost of network deployment and ensure the area coverage. 27. ANDROID BASED PATIENT HEALTH MONITORING AND ABNORMALITIES DETECTION USING MOBILE NETWORK

Abstract: Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, peripheral oxygen saturation (SPO2) and blood pressure are among the most used physiological signals in patient monitoring. A portable medical terminal monitor all these signals and connect the user with the medical center which is an unparalleled convenient way for patients and doctors to save lives. In this paper, Android based medical terminal is developed. This medical terminal not only has the feature of monitoring of several physiological signals and constant detection of eventual abnormalities, but also has the ability to send recorded data to the cloud server for further processing and storage. 28. RADIATION TOLERANCE EXPERIMENT FOR A DYNAMICALLY RECONFIGURABLE VISION ARCHITECTURE

Although the amount of memory is always sufficient, the transfer speed of template images is insufficient. The design of software is based on the proven behavior change strategy to improve patient’s self-efficacy, self-regulation, and social support in cardiac rehabilitation. 31. DEMENTIA-PREVENTION SERIOUS GAME TECHNIQUES USING FINGER MOTION, OBJECT DEFORMATION, AND PARTICLE MAPPING WITH LEAP-MOTION

Abstract: Finger movements closely related to cognitive training have been found effective on preventing dementia. Dementia in aged people has been rapidly growing nowadays, which has to come with increase of medical cost to treat it. In this paper, we propose dementia-prevention techniques that can be useful in a serious game using a leap motion controller. To this end, we associate finger motions with particle movements as well as object deformation when interacting with a leap controller. This approach can be utilized in a serious game whereas currently most serious games seem to provide just touch interface for the treatment of dementia. Finally, we have shown experimental results as well.

33. SENSOSOL: MULTIFOV 4-QUADRANT HIGH PRECISION SUN SENSOR FOR SATELLITE ATTITUDE CONTROL

Abstract: The design, manufacturing and calibration of an improved miniaturized two axis sun sensor for satellite attitude control is presented, including the manufacturing process using MEMS technologies. The high precision is obtained by the subdivision of the field of view (FOV). The FOV and the resolution obtained are ±60º and 0.5º for the coarse measure and ±35º with precision better than 0.1º for the fine measure.

34. MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND CREEP CHARACTERISTICS OF WOOD/PVC COMPOSITES AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES

Abstract: This paper investigated the effect of temperature on the mechanical properties and tensile creep response of Wood/PVC (WPVC) composite materials. The tensile, compressive, and flexural properties were measured at room temperature, 40°C, 50°C, 60°C and 70°C, respectively. The short term tensile creep at different temperatures was also investigated to obtain the creep characteristics of WPVC composites using power law models. The experimental results summarized that all mechanical properties of WPVC composites decreased significantly by an increasing in temperature, especially for the applied temperatures with higher than 50 °C. The tensile creep models of WPVC composites were obtained for both time-stress dependent and time-stress-temperature dependent. These creep models can be used to predict the long term deformation of WPVC composites for the design phase of WPVC composite structural member.
