Abstract: “Clinical data has opened a great deal of possibility for modern medicine. The benefits could be more if data are shared across health centers. To share data interoperable platforms are needed. Interoperability stands in the ability of different information system to exchange data. It can be foster at different levels, starting from simple technical one, related to the connection of the systems to the practical, by which data can be finally shared for elaboration purposes by different users. Today interoperability is highly requested in several departments of healthcare organizations. This is particularly the case of the dialysis facilities, where the strong lack of standards reflects in a huge gap in having interoperable systems. This work present an effort to overcome the problems of interoperability of data related to dialysis units. A Federated Database System (FDBS) approach to construct a common data repository. The repository has been built by the Dialysis Data Infrastructure (DD”
